The exact origin of porcelain is unknown, but thought to have been developed in Kaingsi, China. The earliest type of porcelain was produced during the Han dynasty (206BC). By 1000 AD, pure white porcelain was perfected and admired throughout the world. Porcelain was first introduced into Europe in the 1500's and viewed by the European royalty as a highly desired luxury product.
